Rod Rieger, Minister

“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and of self-discipline.”

God has graciously allowed my wife and I to return to our home church here at Driftwood Christian to minister with long-time friends as well as new acquaintances.  We’re the Riegers, Rod and Peggy, and we both grew up in this area and graduated at the local school in Burlington.  We’ve been married for 48 years, and are blessed with 3 children, 10 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.  We are fortunate that almost all live close.

We have been in ministry 37 years, youth and senior, full and part time.  We enjoy spending time with our family and traveling, especially taking in shows at Branson and seeing new sights while cruising the high seas.  Peggy is a wonderful, hard-working partner with a beautiful voice that she uses to praise the Lord.

I believe that as Christians, we should be socially active and bold in our stand for Christ, as a favorite verse comes from 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and of self-discipline.”

I’ve been described as innovative in my messages, and I enjoy trying to use many resources to keep everyone’s attention.  Another quote that I relate to that motivates me comes from an 18th. century British statesman, Edmund Burke: “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

We truly believe that “GOD IS GOOD, ALL THE TIME!”
